| Arkansas native has show July 12 Arkansas native Tony Witt will be performing his “Tribute To Elvis” at the Royal Theatre in Benton, AR at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 12. Witt has been performing his tribute to Presley since 1989, appearing in a variety of venues and events throughout the South. His vocal styling and performance are said to be “so undeniably reminiscent of Presley’s that it has actually been suggested that he lip-syncs. “ ... his sound is that close!” Witt has performed at many private and public events throughout the state and has made appearances on KTHV Channel 11’s “This Morning” program and “Daybreak” on KATV Channel 7.
Recently, he won first place at the CSRA Images Of The King Contest in Augusta, Ga. He is a pre-qualified finalist in the Images Of The King World Championship that will take place in Memphis, Tenn., Aug. 15-16.
Witt’s promoters say that all of his performances are executed tastefully and respectfully, to both the Presley legacy and to the listening audience, While admitting that there can only be one Elvis, Witt says he strives to bring to his audience the sound and feel of an Elvis Presley performance, both to the seasoned fan and the inexperienced listener.
Being true to performing classic Elvis concert and studio material, Witt also includes a sprinkling of Presley’s gospel selections, reflecting a love of faith-based renditions that he also shares with the famed singer.
This range of Presley musical performance makes him comfortably at home in a variety of settings — from corporate, private, and public events to ministry-related performances. Witt says. In ministry-related events, he shares his Christian testimony and a gospel message.
