WANNABE stars could take their first step on the road towards fame and fortune this weekend by entering a charity talent competition on Canvey.

Canvey's Got Talent takes place on Sunday at Thorney Bay Caravan Park.

Youngsters, adults, groups and anyone who thinks they can sing, dance or entertain the masses should head to the bar area of the caravan park, off Thorney Bay Road from 2.30pm.

A judging panel of three Elvis impersonators will be giving acts the thumbs up or thumbs down during the afternoon.

All proceeds from the event will go towards Fair Haven Hospices in Westcliff.

Acts wanting to take part should register with James O'Brian, before Sunday, by calling 01268 694031.
